Jennifer Cazzalli This is absolutely a master piece. Love it!
A visual meditation on forever.
Xuan created The Endless Loop as an exploration of continuous energy — the way ink, guided by decades of brush training, can capture perpetual motion in a single still image. Inspired by the Zen concept of ensō (the circle of wholeness), this piece reimagines the infinity symbol through the language of classical ink wash painting.
Every stroke in this composition is deliberate and unrepeatable. You can see where the ink pooled deeply, creating velvety black centers of gravity, and where the brush accelerated to produce the “flying white” texture on the curves — a hallmark of mastery in traditional Chinese calligraphy. The result is a piece that balances opposing forces: chaos and order, movement and stillness, beginning and end.
About this piece:
This is an original composition by Xuan: hand-painted with traditional ink and brush, then carefully translated to a high-fidelity digital format and printed on museum-quality archival canvas. The process preserves the flow, texture, and spirit of the original brushwork in a form built to last for generations.
Why it works in a room:
The rounded, looping form softens the hard lines of modern furniture and architecture, bringing a sense of flow and calm to rectangular spaces. The monochrome palette anchors a room without competing with its surroundings — making it ideal for living rooms, home offices, wellness spaces, and quiet corners that need one powerful visual center.

About the artist:
Now living in Seattle, Washington, Xuan grew up in a family of artists in China, learning classical ink painting and calligraphy directly from her father, a renowned painter, collector, and appraiser. Her work bridges centuries of tradition with contemporary minimalist sensibility, creating pieces designed to bring calm, depth, and intention into modern spaces.
